Wells Fargo and Save the Children Philippines celebrate the anniversary of the Financial Resilience towards Economic Recovery (FREER) Project through an immersive community engagement with children and their communities in Malabon City on Sept. 20, 2022.
Wells Fargo partnered with Save the Children Philippines in implementing the FREER Project that aims to contribute to the alleviation of poverty among Malabon City families, especially those impacted by inequality and discrimination and whose livelihoods were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and other emergencies.
Community Savings Group (CSG) members and micro-entrepreneurs who received support from the FREER Project showcased their products and shared how the project has improved their lives.
As of Sept. 2022, the FREER Project has successfully organized 15 CSGs, comprising 305 members.
They were provided financial literacy lessons and were assisted in rebuilding and expanding their livelihoods to earn and accumulate savings amounting to PHP 835,090.
The FREER Project hopes to sustain its success through its continuous engagement and collaboration with the local government of Malabon to futher build the resilience of families, especially women and children.
