Classical guitarist in concert, Aug. 24-29

Prize-winning classical guitarist Samuel Asistores is the music treat of the month at the Alliance Française de Manille on Thursday, August 24, 2023, 6:30 p.m.  and at the Diosdado Macapagal Hall, UP School of Economics on August 29 at 6:30 p.m.

       Asistores is silver medalist and audience prize winner in the 2023 Groningen Guitar Festival & Competition in The Netherlands.

       A student of the Philippine High School for the Arts, Asistores finished his secondary education at the Interlochen Academy of Arts in Michigan.  He is presently enrolled at the École Supérieure Musique et Danse Hauts de France where he is under the tutelage of the distinguished French classical guitarist Judicaël Perroy.

His August 24 and 29 program includes Lute Suite bwv 996 prelude-presto, allemande by J.S. Bach,  Fantasia No. 7 by G.P. Telemann, Hommage a Chopin by Aleksander Tansman,  Elegy by Alan Rawsthorne, Bardenklange, Unruhe & An die Enfernte by J.K Mert and Sonata Para Guitara by Roberto Sierra.

 The August 24-29 concerts are produced by the Independent Philippine Art Ventures, Inc.in cooperation with  Alliance Française de Manille (AFM). Padayon Jud Foundation, and Guitar Friends.
