Eternal Gardens unveils Transfiguration of Jesus Christ statue in Opol, Misamis Oriental

Leading memorial park developer Eternal Gardens unveiled the statue of the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ at its newest branch in Barangay Patag, Opol, Misamis Oriental.

The unveiling ceremony took place on Oct. 21, 2023, and was graced by local government officials including Opol Municipal Mayor Jayfrancis D. Bago, Vice Mayor Danilo “Vox” Daroy, Jr., and Barangay Patag Chairman Hermito B. Laid, Jr.

The event commenced with a Thanksgiving Mass, officiated by Rev. Fr. Richard T. Miculob, parish priest of the Our Lady of Consolation Parish, who also led the blessing of the towering sculpture.

Eternal Gardens’ top company officials, led by its Chairman and CEO D. Edgard A. Cabangon, extended a warm welcome to the distinguished attendees.

The stunning concrete portrayal of the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ, located at Eternal Gardens Opol, is a masterpiece crafted by Napoleon L. Balubayan, the talented son of veteran sculptor Conrado Balubayan.

Eternal Gardens President and COO shared that “This occasion of unveiling the statue of the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ, which is our company’s trademark and symbol of excellence, officially signifies that our fine brand of memorial care is now here in Opol, Misamis Oriental.”

Opol Municipal Mayor Jayfrancis D. Bago expressed his gratitude, saying, “Brgy. Patag is one of those midlands that is progressive. Thank you for choosing the Municipality of Opol, especially Brgy. Patag for your new Eternal Gardens.”

Opol Municipal Vice Mayor Danilo Daroy Jr. pledged support, stating, “Sa Sangguniang Bayan, we are just here to support all of you. We are here to support whatever is good for our people and to support the growth and development of our beloved municipality.”

Eternal Gardens Chairman and CEO D. Edgard A. Cabangon shared the company’s appreciation for the warm reception, saying, “Nandito kami dahil Nakita at naramdaman namin ang mainit na pagtanggap ninyo sa aming kumpanya. Eternal Gardens Opol marks the company’s second venture in the Mindanao region, following the successful establishment of its branch in the vibrant city of Cagayan de Oro.

This new addition is the twelfth memorial park in the company’s expanding network nationwide, breaking ground on March 18, 2023.
