PSA: The SM Book Nook Reading Festival Is Happening This Friday—Here’s Everything You Need to Know!

This Friday, January 31, 2025, the SM Book Nook Reading Festival will transform SM Aura into a vibrant celebration of Filipino literature and creativity.  One of the major highlights is the exclusive meet-and-greet with esteemed Filipino authors like National Artist for Literature Virgilio Almario, also known as Rio Alma, alongside other renowned Filipino authors such as Dean Tony Laviña, Hans Pieter Arao, and Jayson Fajardo. The chance to interact with such literary icons and get your books signed is a must for book lovers! Plus, some of your favorite independent authors, like Therese Villarante-Langit, will be there, giving you the chance to connect with fresh voices and emerging talent in the literary world.

National Artist for Literature Virgilio S. Almario (Rio Alma) is set to grace Book Nook’s first-ever Reading Festival.

Beyond the author meet-and-greets, the festival offers a wide variety of activities, including a fun quiz game, historical fiction readings, storytelling sessions for all ages, and intimate book club discussions. You’ll also experience spoken word poetry performances by teens and young adults and gain insights into the world of zines with BBZ. The event will feature publishers like Bookshelf PH, Grana Books, Aklat Alamid, and more. Plus, learn about copyright laws with a special session designed for budding authors.
