PASAY CITY, Philippines, 05 Sept. 2025 – The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines recognized the SM group with nine (9) awards for excellence in business communications at the 21st Philippine Quill Awards.

SM Investments Corporation (SM Investments), the group’s parent company, earned two Quill Awards for its 2024 Integrated Report and its Euro Medium-Term Notes (EMTN) Program. The latter recognized SM’s strategic communications in issuing its USD500 million debt notes, the company’s largest international bond since 2014.

“We thank IABC Philippines for recognizing our efforts towards meaningful communications,” said Frederic C. DyBuncio, President and Chief Executive Officer, SM Investments. “At SM, communication is a strategic function that helps us build trust and collaboration with our key stakeholders.”

SM Foundation also brought home two awards for its storytelling advocacies: “Uplifting Lives through Social Good” and “We Care: The SM Foundation Newsletter.”

SM Cares, the CSR arm of SM Supermalls, was recognized for its flagship youth advocacy, the Global Youth Summit project. Through the program, SM Cares helps nurture the future leaders and problem solvers anew through the Global Youth Summit in partnership with Global Peace Foundation.

SM Supermalls received an award for Toy Fezt, a showcase event celebrating fandom, toy culture, and art.

From the group’s banking arms, BDO Unibank, Inc. was cited for its social media strategy via the BDO Kabayan Facebook Page. China Banking Corporation (Chinabank) clinched two awards for its Brand Refresh Program, a major initiative to modernize its brand and image—from digital assets to bank branches, to engage a new generation of customers, and for its digital campaign, “Focused on You.”

The Philippine Quill Awards, organized by IABC Philippines, is one of the country’s most prestigious programs recognizing excellence in business communication. The awards highlight organizations and professionals who demonstrate the highest global standards in communication practices.
