GSIS celebrates History Month with engaging festivities

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) marked History Month with a vibrant Historians’ Fair from 7 to 9 August 2025, at its gymnasium in Pasay City.

The three-day event commenced with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with GSIS Corporate Communications Office Vice President Margie Jorillo and representatives from 18 historian exhibitors in attendance. Attendees enjoyed exciting games on Philippine history trivia.

Highlighting the event was a captivating concert at the GSIS Theater by the award-winning Imusicapella Chamber Chorale, founded and musically directed by Tristan Caliston Ignacio. GSIS also hosted a fellowship dinner for historians and history enthusiasts to foster connections within the community.

The celebration featured enlightening panel discussions, lectures, and book signings by esteemed historians, including former National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) Chairman Dr. Emmanuel Calairo, Professor Ambeth Ocampo, Mona Magno Veluz (widely known as Mighty Magulang), and faculty from the University of the Philippines (UP), De La Salle University (DLSU) and from The Heritage Collective.

This year’s History Month theme, Diwa ng Kasaysayan, Kabilin sa Kabataan, led by NHCP, emphasizes the importance of history and cultural heritage for future generations.
