QUEZON CITY, Philippines – A Hotel Sogo Santolan employee, Mr. Raymond Tobasco, discovered a substantial sum of lost cash amounting to more than Php 400,000 inside a guest room on Friday, December 5, 2025, and promptly returned it to its rightful owner.

At approximately 8:40 AM, Mr. Tobasco, a room guide, found a grey body bag containing the cash inside a cabinet in Room 273. Following company policy, he immediately reported the discovery to his supervisors in accordance with hotel protocol.

The cash was promptly secured, and a meticulous, video-documented counting process was conducted by Hotel Supervisor Mr. Paulo and Leadman Mr. Jeric, confirming the exact amount. It was then turned over to Cash and Property Management Supervisor for safekeeping until officially claimed.

Guided by the company’s core values of courtesy and discipline, Mr. Tobasco acted with both respect and responsibility when he found the lost cash. His careful and prompt return of the money not only protected the property of the guest of Hotel Sogo but also demonstrated how these principles are actively upheld by employees in their daily work.

“Yung pinakitang katapatan ng employee namin ay talagang kahanga-hanga,” said Mr. Melchor A. Borata, Hotel Sogo Santolan Manager. “Proud kami sa ginawa niya, dahil makikita mo na yung disiplina—hindi lang core values sa amin, kundi totoong ginagawa ng aming mga empleyado sa bawat branch.”
