Organized by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) through the Thai Trade Center in Manila, the two-day festival brings together Thai SELECT-certified restaurants, offering Filipinos an authentic and immersive Thai experience.

The opening ceremony welcomed distinguished guests, partners, and members of the media, highlighted by the remarks of Ms. Sutinee Vathana, Director of the Thai Trade Center in Manila, and Her Excellency Mrs. Makawadee Sumitmor, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Philippines. Both leaders underscored the role of food as a powerful bridge between cultures, strengthening the longstanding relationship between Thailand and the Philippines.

At the heart of the festival is the Thai SELECT certification, a seal of approval granted by Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce to restaurants that meet the highest standards of authenticity, quality, and hospitality. Participating restaurants—Benjarong Manila, Greyhound Café, Mango Tree, Moo Baan Krung Thai, Nara Thai Cuisine, and Thai BBQ Original Restaurant—showcase signature dishes that reflect the depth and diversity of Thai cuisine.

Guests are invited to explore a dynamic lineup of activities, including live cooking demonstrations led by renowned chefs, offering insights into traditional techniques and contemporary interpretations of Thai dishes. Adding to the cultural experience is the Thai-style fruit and vegetable carving demonstration presented by the Royal Thai Embassy—an intricate art form rooted in centuries of tradition, symbolizing elegance, precision, and hospitality.

Beyond the flavors, the festival creates a multi-sensory journey, celebrating Thai craftsmanship, creativity, and the spirit of “sanook”—the Thai concept of joy and enjoyment. Visitors can engage with participating restaurants, discover authentic ingredients, and experience the warmth and hospitality that define Thai culture.

The Thai SELECT Festival 2026 runs from March 28 to 29 at Shangri-La Plaza, inviting everyone to indulge in a culinary journey and discover why authentic Thai cuisine continues to captivate the world.
