via GRAPHIC PLUS — On 4 May 2026, Ambassador ENDO Kazuya paid a courtesy call on Secretary Eduardo Oban Jr., National Security Advisor (NSA) of the Philippines, and exchanged views on Japan and Philippine security cooperation.

During the meeting, Ambassador Endo expressed Japan’s intention to further deepen the security cooperation cultivated between the two countries. He emphasized Japan’s commitment to working closely with the Philippines, in light of recent developments, including the updated Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP) and the revision of the Three Principles on the Transfer of Defense Equipment and Technology.

Ambassador Endo and NSA Oban agreed to further promote robust cooperation between Japan and the Philippines in the security sector.
