Leading life insurer Fortune Life Insurance Co., Inc. vowed to continue strengthening its online facilities for the benefit of both its policyholders and salesforce members.

During Fortune Life’s 36th Annual Awards last June 11, which was held virtually via Zoom and streamed on the company’s official Facebook page, D. Arnold A. Cabangon, Fortune Life president, expressed confidence that the company will be able to attain, and even exceed its sales goal for 2021 despite the challenges of the pandemic.

“Among the priority projects for this year are online selling tools for the agents, web-based self-service customer support, and online payment facilities with partner banks, Dragonpay, and GCash, for the convenience of our clients. I assure you that the management will continue to support our salesforce to attain and even exceed our sales goal for 2021,” Cabangon said in his message.

Commending the company’s Top Sales Achievers for the year, Cabangon shared how his father and Fortune Life founder, Ambassador Antonio L. Cabangon Chua, “would have been very proud of you, as each of you embodies his values of perseverance combined with hard work and discipline.”

For her part, Emma M. Abad, executive vice president and general manager of Fortune Life, underscored the great strength shown by the company’s salesforce members in the face of a global health crisis.

“Our salesforce, especially our top producers, not only showed resilience but also persistence in achieving their sales goals. The pandemic did not stop them from fulfilling their mission of offering life insurance protection to our fellow Filipinos,” Abad said in her message.

Fortune Life has a total of 37 awardees this year, which is more than the number of their top achievers in the previous year. Among them are Ritchie L. Garay, Insurance Specialist of the Year and SSI Specialist of the Year; Eunice Y. Hangad, Agency Manager of the Year; Ines H. Jabines, Field Manager of the Year and Agency Builder of the Year; and Arlene L. Allarey, Group Insurance Specialist of the Year and Group Field Manager of the Year.

Also honored during the virtual event were husband and wife Francisco A. Taguines and Emily C. Taguines, Founder’s Circle Awardees for the fifth consecutive year.

In his special message, Insurance Commissioner Dennis B. Funa expressed his appreciation to Fortune Life “for being one of the contributors to the overall success of the industry.” He thanked them for their hard work and encouraged them to continue working in harmony for a better future for the industry.

“Many thanks to all for your hard work and support in upholding the growth and development of the insurance industry. Together, let us forge our path towards recovery and brighter days ahead,” Funa said.

The Insurance Commissioner also took the opportunity to send a message of hope for all the diligent members of the insurance industry. “In this time of crisis I would like to embolden everyone to take heart and courage in facing the challenges hurled on us. Let us continue to play our part in providing comprehensive products and financial solutions that will help our countrymen achieve a better future, especially in these trying times we are in. I am counting on your cooperation in making our hopes for a better future a reality,” Funa said.
