Quezon City, Philippines – Following #PlasticFreeJuly at Uptown Mall and to demonstrate to people that a life free from unnecessary plastic and disposable material is still possible, Plastic-Free Pilipinas (PFP) collaborators:Ecowaste Coalition, Greenpeace Philippines, No Burn Pilipinas, Mother Earth Foundation PH, GAIA Asia Pacific, Health Care Without Harm – Asia, Break Free From Plastic, and Oceana Philippines, in partnership with Megaworld Lifestyle Malls and Eastwood City, launched on Monday at Eastwood Central Plaza, a photo exhibit and bazaar featuring eco-friendly stores to make plastic-free Pilipinas a reality.
The Photo exhibit from EcoWaste Coalition, Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives, Greenpeace Philippines, Health Care Without Harm and Oceana Philippines International highlighted the impacts of single-use disposable plastic in communities and the environment as a major source of pollution in the Philippines.
The zero waste bazaar featured sustainable packaging, home essentials and personal care products from PFP’s partner merchants: Ilka, The Bamboo Company, Armari Organics, Back to Basics Ecostore, KatHa Lifestyle Store, and #SabonExpress to showcase eco-friendly enterprises offering viable alternatives to single-use plastic and heighten public awareness on single-use plastic production problems.
The Photo Exhibit and Zero Waste Bazaar will run from September 12 to 14 at Eastwood Mall Central Plaza in Quezon City.
