Tears for Sparta

Sparta, thank you
for being my faithful friend
I am not your master
You are my teacher
For you taught me to smile
when inexplicable sorrows came by
You are my St. Michael

when a stranger jumped in our backyard
not to pick flowers
but in our house visited.
I promise not to cry
only remember those days of good times
Your paws in the snow
Footprints of love, I know.
At night, I will not sleep alone
for in my heart, your memory stays forever.
You made my life whole
My Sparta, wait for me, at the Rainbow Bridge.
