An All-Women Writing Workshop and Creative Retreat in Tagaytay

Share

Women Writing is inviting women writers age 21 and above to submit manuscripts for the chance to be selected for one of ten spots to its 4th Annual Writers Workshop in Tagaytay on August 29–31, 2025. Manuscripts written in either English or Filipino in the following genres will be considered: fiction, nonfiction, creative nonfiction, memoir, and poetry.

Participants will stay in comfortable accommodations with spacious grounds and a scenic view of Taal Volcano. The three days and two nights will be packed with craft conversations, individual writing time, and activities designed to build camaraderie and community with fellow writers. Each participant is entitled to one full hour of constructive oral critique, an optional 20-minute one-on-one consultation with her mentor, as well as written feedback from both mentors and cohort members.

Mentors

This year, resident mentor Marjorie Evasco will be joined by Grace Monte de Ramos, a poet whose expertise extends to teaching, cultural work, editing, and translating. Like Dr. Evasco, Ms. de Ramos served as a panelist in the Silliman and Iyas workshops.

Dr. Marjorie Evasco has been a mentor at the Women Writing annual workshops since its inception in 2022. She is a University Fellow and Professor Emeritus (Literature) of De La Salle University-Manila and the recipient of countless awards for her poetry and contribution to literature.

The deadline for application is 11:59 p.m. of June 7, 2025. Ten writers will be selected based on the merit and promise of their work.
