Sunshine Place offers three workshops for kids this summer: Watercolor, Writing and Diorama.
The Kids Watercolor Workshop is conducted by Sir Jen Consumido, a self-taught artist. The workshopaims to spark imagination while teaching the basics of color theory and watercolor techniques in a playful, easy-to-understand way. Through guided sessions, children will learn how to express themselves artistically while discovering the beauty and joy of painting. The workshop has six sessions and scheduled on Tuesdays from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. The workshop is open to kids age 7 to 16 years old.
Dr. Joem Antonio, an eight-time Palanca Award winner, conducts the Writing Workshop on June 17,18 and 19, 2025 from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. The Writing workshop will use the Beginning Story Writer’s Kit created by Dr. Antonio.
In this three-day writing workshop, kids will be taught how to hunt for good ideas, how to have a reliable writing structure that can keep on surprising, and how to create the sentences and paragraphs that will keep the readers’ attention. The workshop is open to kids aged 8 to 15 years old.
Unleash your child’s creativity at the Diorama and Fun Crafts Workshop for Kids at Sunshine Place to be conducted by Filipino contemporary artist Jucar Raquepo who has worked across different artistic disciplines such as painting, installation, assemblage, and video art.
In this 5-session workshop, kids age 6 to 14 years old will explore the world of 3D crafting by creating jungle scenes, beach landscapes, old houses, and more using recyclable materials. Each session focuses on fun hands-on techniques—from painting greenery and textures to folding, pasting, and doodling—designed to spark imagination and develop artistic skills.
The workshop will start on June 26, 2025 from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm.
