via GRAPHIC PLUS | BAUAN, BATANGAS — More than a gathering of valued clients and partners, SotoGrande Hotel Batangas’ recent Appreciation Night served as a platform to share the property’s vision for the future of tourism in Bauan and the greater Batangas region.
During the event, Brett Richard D. Borjal, Operations Manager of SotoGrande Hotel Batangas, outlined the hotel’s commitment to showcasing what he describes as the “other side of Batangas”—a destination that goes beyond the province’s well-known beaches and offers visitors a more diverse travel experience.

According to Borjal, the decision to establish the hotel in Bauan was driven by its strategic location and accessibility. Situated near major road networks, SotoGrande provides convenient access to some of Batangas’ emerging attractions, including heritage sites, diving destinations, nature attractions, and cultural landmarks.
“We wanted to position the hotel as a gateway to experiences that many travelers have yet to discover. Bauan offers easy access to Taal, Mabini, Batangas City, Cuenca, and other destinations, making it an ideal base for both leisure and business travelers,” Borjal shared during the interview.
The hotel’s location also places guests close to Bauan’s growing marine tourism sector, including its marine sanctuary and emerging freediving community, which have started gaining attention among local and international travelers.
Beyond leisure tourism, Borjal emphasized SotoGrande’s strong focus on the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) market. The property features the Batulao Grand Ballroom, capable of hosting up to 800 guests, along with several function rooms designed for corporate events, government functions, conventions, and social celebrations.
The Appreciation Night gathered corporate accounts, government representatives, event organizers, and wedding coordinators, providing an opportunity for the hotel to strengthen partnerships and better understand the evolving needs of its clients.

As part of its long-term strategy, SotoGrande continues to invest in new guest experiences, including wellness facilities, family-oriented amenities, outdoor event spaces, and lifestyle programs designed to encourage longer stays.
Borjal also highlighted the property’s commitment to sustainability and community development through local hiring, responsible environmental practices, and support for local products and tourism initiatives.
For SotoGrande Hotel Batangas, the vision extends beyond accommodations. It is about creating a destination where business, leisure, culture, wellness, and community come together.
“Our goal is for guests to experience more than a hotel stay. We want them to discover the many reasons to appreciate Batangas and see Bauan as a destination in its own right,” Borjal said.
As tourism continues to evolve, SotoGrande Hotel Batangas is positioning itself at the heart of a growing destination—one that invites travelers to explore, connect, and experience a different side of Batangas.
