OPTE extends help to earthquake victims

Porac, Pampanga – SM Foundation extended a helping hand through its Operation: Tulong Express (OPTE) to victims of the recent earthquake that rocked Metro Manila and the neighboring provinces of Pampanga,  Zambales and Bataan.

Volunteer SM employees joined other volunteers in distributing relief packs in 22 barangays in Porac, Pampanga,  San Marcelino/ Hermosa,  Subic, Zambales and Bataan.

Beneficiaries were 2,950 families or 14,750 individuals. The distribution of relief goods was spearheaded by SM Foundation AVP for Outreach and Livelihood Cristie Angeles.

Support was given by Savemore and SM Supermarket, which provided the required relief goods; SM Supermalls (Pampanga, San Fernando, Telabastagan, Clark, Tarlac and Olongapo) for coordination, transportation and distribution of goods; Our Home, St. Isadore Learning Center, Savemore and Dahnberger Construction for providing trucks for relief; and RDSWD3 and LGU social development offices for facilitating the orderly distribution in all areas.
