Salary loan applications via SSS Mobile App re-enabled

The Social Security System (SSS) announced that its salary loan application with mandatory bank disbursement through the SSS Mobile App is made available again after a new version of the application was released last week.

The new version of the said app also re-enabled the downloading of the PDF file of Payment Reference Numbers (PRN) after generation and has added a new feature that allows members to download the PDF file of Disclosure Statements of their Salary Loans.

Members will no longer have to install the new version. It will automatically be downloaded to their existing SSS Mobile App.

In cases, however, that the new version was not automatically installed, members may update their SSS Mobile App through the App Store, Play Store, and Huawei App Gallery.

Suppose the update button is not available in the said application stores. In that case, members are advised to uninstall the app and reinstall it.

To make sure that they have the new version of the SSS Mobile App, members may tap on the SSS Mobile App’s hamburger icon and proceed to Release Notes. Version 3.2.0 for App Store and Play Store or version 3.2.8 for Huawei AppGallery must be included in the said list.

Currently, other services that may be accessed through the SSS Mobile App include the viewing of member’s information, contribution breakdown, benefit claims info, documentary requirements in filing benefit claims, list of documentary requirement for membership, SSS branch office with location map, loan status, and balance, updating of contact information, submission of maternity notification, registration to My.SSS (SSS Website), generation of PRN, and online payment option.

The SSS Mobile App, a free downloadable app for smartphone users, was launched in 2018. It is designed to provide a more convenient way for members to transact with SSS without the hassle of queuing in its branches.

Last September 1, the SSS marked its 63rd founding anniversary with the theme “Responding to the Times through ExpreSSS Services.” It highlights the SSS’ online service facilities that aim to provide a simple, faster, and convenient means for members and employers to transact with the SSS, anytime and anywhere.
