PIANO FOR BEGINNERS @ SUNSHINE PLACE

Share

Learning piano helps build brain connections between the hand muscles and brain – a great way to stay mentally fit. Playing the piano contributes to the development of neural connections, enhancing mood, memory, and cognitive clarity. Even a brief exposure to musical training can yield lasting benefits for the brain.

For youngsters, piano playing fosters discipline, patience, and enhances academic skills. Learning the musical patterns can help a child develop mnemonic methods, improving their memory skills. Learning the instrument also develops coordination and motor skills, involving the movement of hands, arms, and feet, and may even promote ambidexterity. Additionally, through the musical learning process, both young and adult players acquire social skills and boost their self-confidence.

Sunshine Place brings back its Piano for Beginners classes every Thursday by appointment. Available are four-session full course and eight-session full course. Piano for Beginners provides students with customized training in basic piano technique, musical notation, and theory. Students will have the opportunity to explore repertoire from different genres of their choice.  Lessons will cover the following: Basic music concepts / theory, Note & sight reading, Ear training, Proper hand and finger position, Chords, and Classical / Pop music pieces.

Classes will be conducted by Ms. Steffi Jalen Marata, a dedicated music performance graduate who is passionate about teaching. She is a Magna Cum Laude graduate with a Bachelor of Music degree from St. Scholastica College of Manila.   She will align her teaching style to the student’s personality and preferences to make each lesson more fun and full of learnings.
