Filipino at Tsino Magkaibigan Foundation and FFCCCII undertake flood relief effort in Quezon City

In a remarkable display of solidarity and generosity, the Filipino at Tsino Magkaibigan Foundation—led by Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) President Dr. Cecilio K. Pedro—and Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, distributed 5,000 packs of rice (5 kilos each) and instant noodles to urban poor families recently affected by severe flooding.

The relief distribution took place at the Amoranto Sports Complex and was further extended to other flood-hit communities in the city, including Tatalon and Payatas.

This crucial humanitarian effort was carried out in partnership with the Philippine STAR’s Damayan civic project, spearheaded by PhilStar President Miguel G. Belmonte.

P60-M IN DONATIONS

The collaboration underscores the shared commitment to aid flood-affected communities and provide immediate relief to vulnerable families grappling with the aftermath of Typhoon Carina.

The Filipino at Tsino Magkaibigan Foundation—comprising 30 major Filipino Chinese business, civic, and cultural federations—successfully raised ₱60 million in donations to support extensive typhoon relief operations across several provinces, including Bulacan, Pampanga, Cavite, Bataan, Batangas, Rizal, and Metro Manila.

“This joint effort demonstrates the strength of our community when we come together to help those in need,” said Dr. Pedro. “Our mission is to reach as many affected families as possible and to offer them not just food, but hope.”

UNITY IN TIME OF CRISIS

Mayor Joy Belmonte echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the importance of unity in times of crisis. “Quezon City is grateful for the generosity and quick response from our partners in the Filipino at Tsino Magkaibigan Foundation and FFCCCII. Together, we are making a significant difference in the lives of our most vulnerable residents.”

The relief operation will continue to reach other flood-stricken areas in Metro Manila, ensuring that aid reaches all who need it.
