STA. CRUZ, Laguna – Through the unwavering support of Governor Ramil L. Hernandez and the Provincial Government of Laguna, the Provincial Sports and Games Development Office (PSGDO) conducted the 2nd Gov. Ramil L. Hernandez Arnis Cup on 24 May 2025 at the Laguna Sports Complex in Brgy. Bubukal.
Sanctioned by the Philippine Eskrima Kali-Arnis Federation (PEKAF), the tournament attracted more than 700 arnisadors from 41 teams in Laguna and nearby areas.
The overall championship was won by the Muntinlupa Arnis Team with 11 golds, 5 silvers and 12 bronzes. Elbi Arnis Team of Los Baños ranked second (10-9-14) while Lake View Arnis Club of Muntinlupa (9-5-7) came in third. Cabuyao City Arnis Team took the fourth spot and Lumban Arnis Team landed fifth.
Sports Development Officer Mr. Mario C. Tobias and Tournament Manager Mr. Roann P. Calatin are both optimistic that the annual local tournament will inspire a new generation of Lagunenses to play Arnis and continue the province’s rich martial arts heritage.
