VIA GRAPHIC PLUS — Bell-Kenz Pharma is strengthening its commitment to inclusive healthcare after being invited to participate in the National Working Committee tasked with preparing for the 2026 Cerebral Palsy Awareness and Protection Week, organized by the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA).
Observed nationwide every September 16 to 22 pursuant to Proclamation No. 588, the annual observance aims to raise public awareness and understanding of cerebral palsy while promoting early detection, timely intervention, inclusion, and support for persons with cerebral palsy.
Led by Corporate Branding and Public Affairs Head Patrick Larraga, Bell-Kenz Pharma will take part in discussions and preparations aimed at promoting greater public awareness, inclusion, protection, and support for persons with cerebral palsy.
The National Working Committee brings together representatives from national government agencies, local government units, medical and rehabilitation organizations, disability advocacy groups, civil-society organizations, and the private sector. The collaborative body seeks to ensure that activities for the annual observance are responsive to the needs and concerns of persons with cerebral palsy and the broader disability community.
The invitation followed a coordination and courtesy call on July 28, 2026, involving Bell-Kenz Pharma Public Affairs Manager Anna Leah Poteet Morales and NCDA officials, including Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Chief Jayme J. Mariño, Information Officer I Jem Aguilar, and Project Evaluation Assistant Nanie Umali-Apostol.
Expanding Sagip CPR to Persons with Disabilities
During the meeting, Bell-Kenz Pharma also proposed an opportunity to expand its Sagip CPR Campaign by introducing disability-inclusive Hands-Only CPR training in partnership with the NCDA.
The proposal aims to explore ways of making basic emergency-response education more accessible to persons with disabilities, as well as their caregivers, family members, and loved ones who provide daily care and support. By equipping both PWDs and the people around them with potentially life-saving CPR skills, the initiative seeks to strengthen emergency preparedness within households and communities.
The proposed collaboration may include adapting CPR training approaches and educational materials based on the needs of participants, coordinating with disability organizations and relevant specialists, and developing approaches that encourage the active participation of persons with disabilities in emergency preparedness.
The initiative is aligned with Bell-Kenz Pharma’s broader efforts to promote CPR awareness and equip communities with potentially life-saving emergency-response knowledge.
