FFCCCII, Anvil Business Club champion cultural understanding through advance screenings of ‘Dear You’

VIA GRAPHIC PLUS — The Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII), in partnership with the Anvil Business Club, reaffirmed its commitment to fostering cultural understanding and people-to-people friendship through two advance screenings of the acclaimed Asian film “Dear You”, FFCCCII President Victor Lim announced at the Pandesal Forum of Kamuning Bakery Café in Quezon City.

In his remarks, FFCCCII President Victor Lim emphasized the federation’s enduring mission of promoting sustainable development, education, cultural exchange, and international goodwill. “Culture has the power to unite people beyond borders,” Lim said, noting that films such as “Dear You” inspire empathy, celebrate shared heritage, and strengthen mutual understanding.

Lim highlighted FFCCCII’s nation-building initiatives, particularly Operation: Barrio Schools, which has donated over 6,500 public school buildings in rural underserved communities nationwide since 1961. He also cited the recent Philippine visit of Chinese actress Zhang Yingfei (“Linda Walker”), whose activities promoted education, tourism, perseverance, and cultural understanding.

A box-office success across Asia, “Dear You” tells a moving story of the overseas Chinese experience between Thailand and southern China, exploring themes of family, sacrifice, resilience, migration, and hope.

Lim said these universal values resonate strongly with millions of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families, whose sacrifices continue to sustain the nation. Lim paid special tribute to the country’s “heroic OFWs,” whose annual remittances of about US$38 billion remain a vital pillar of the Philippine economy.

FFCCCII supports two advance screenings of “Dear You”—on August 5 at the SM Mall of Asia IMAX Theatre and, in partnership with the Anvil Business Club, on August 8 at SM North EDSA. The screenings seek to promote family values, deepen cultural understanding, and encourage meaningful dialogue through the universal language of cinema.
